The Quiet Writer Speaks… kinda
|
Yeah, it’s been quiet around here lately. The webcomics are still going strong, but I’ve been pretty lax with the blog lately. Been busy with various projects. I’m in the middle of doing character development for one project, finishing up another screenplay, helping someone out with some military research, working on a new feature for my comic headlines section, and training. Training? What are you training for? Well, I entered this crazy 2005 Screenwriter’s Challenge. I’m waiting to hear back on the results from the first round, but in case I do make it to the finals, I’m preparing for writing a short screenplay (up to 20 pages) in just 24 hours. So, I’ve been doing a lot of writing drills with random genres and subjects to get myself back into that speedy mode of writing. And even if I don’t make the finals, I’ve been having fun training anyways (might have to post some of the crazy writing I’ve been coming up with from all this). Some quick bits: • August 19th, 1921… some kooky kid named Gene was born in Texas. A World War II bomber, Pan Am pilot, and later a police officer, this man of action settled down into television and wrote stories for Dragnet and other police TV dramas until he got his own little piece of TV rolling along… Star Trek. |
