Hmm… Pulse news oddity…

My headline webpage picked up an interesting headline from The Pulse that points to a news item that looks as if it was deleted. You can see The Pulse headlines from today here. The title of the article? “Marvel to Do Black & White Dollar DIgests” If it was an authentic article, and it’s what I think it is, I’d buy that for a dollar. Heck, put out monthy anthologies with b&w versions of every Marvel comic that’s released in a month for like $15 or $20 (or even two monthly volumes for that price since they have enough books), and I’d gladly pay for an annual subscription upfront (and buy the full color trades of all the stories I’d want to stash in my library). Same goes for DC and Dark Horse (and any publisher that puts out a dozen or more comics each month). It sounds odd that I’d give up color… but I’d much rather have the option to read through all the stories to keep up with my favorites and maybe find a few gems I’d enjoy following. And if a book I normally enjoy puts out a mediocre issue, there would be a better chance I’d find a couple other good stories in the book that would make the investment worthwhile. Anyways, we’ll have to see what happens… just seems odd that they’d post the article and then delete it. [EDIT] - Looks like they have another article at that link now. |
