Ever heard gurgling sounds from your lungs?
|
That’s what I’ve been dealing with for over a week now. 100+ fever every day, bronchitis, sinusitis, flu, and a recently developed distaste for anything that’s cherry-flavored. Ick! But with the aid of some serious antibiotics, Tamiflu, and prescribed cough medicine laced with codeine, I’m pretty much back on track again (aside from still coughing a good bit of crap out of my lungs…and still hearing the occassional bits of gurgling from my chest). The worst part about being that sick is fighting your way through all that feverish haze in your mind, and then finding out you can’t get your body to respond to your thoughts. There was a point where I was burning up with fever and my cough had gone crazy…and I just sat there for a couple hours because I couldn’t convince my body to stand up and walk the 12 feet I needed to go to get to my medicine to help out with those things. Instead, I spent all that time constructively…coughing up a lung or two, pulling the blanket off me because I was too warm, putting the blanket back on because I now had the chills, coughing up the empty cavity left in my chest after coughing up my lungs earlier, taking the blanket off because I was too warm, etc. Madness! But now, I’m on the move again. For those people that are waiting on something from me, send me an email to remind me if I haven’t sent you an email yet (yes, you have been given permission to bug me). And for the people that visit to read the daily h-scope entries, you might have noticed that they are randomly repeating some prior entries. That’s what it’s supposed to do when I don’t add new entries…and I didn’t get much writing done at all while I was sick. I can already hear those voices in my head going, “But Jeff, why don’t you get one o’ dem fancy telepathic computers where you can just work it with your mind?” Well, first off…they don’t exist (yet)…and secondly, if I was able to update this site with my thoughts, I’d have to change the entire thing to a restricted, adult-only website…and even though that would probably bump up the hits on my site considerably, I’m not ready to go to that extreme (yet). ^_^ Anyways, I have to catch up on some other projects, but look for the h-scope to start updating again on Monday with a new humor-scope. Also, keep an eye out for my quick Wizard World Texas rundown. |
