Happy Birthday…

George Lucas. Yep, the racecar driver hopeful turned filmmaker was born May 14th, 1944 in Modesto, California. Interesting tidbits gleaned from IMDB about Lucas: he was an executive producer on the film Labrynth, and he was also an executive producer on the international version of the Akira Kurosawa film, Kagemusha.

The Revenge of the Dawning of the Era of Stray Thoughts

Well, blogging’s been light for me lately. I’m working to get ahead on some projects before I head in for my surgery on Monday. I’ll be out of action for a week or so, and I wanted to let people know the status on some of my projects:

  • Brat-halla and Spook’d will update next week. The only difference is that Brat-halla will probably go up a day or two early (since I’ll be in the hospital Monday night when I’d normally post the update).
  • My The Art of Words column updated with a new Dojo article called, Scryptic Dojo: They Call Him The Streak. The Dojo will continue next week (I’m almost done with the next article now).
  • The Comicaze Report will take a quick break while I’m convalescing. Look for a new one going up in two weeks.
  • Mine and Seth’s steampunk comic project is underway (and Seth’s putting a lot of love into the pages I’ve seen so far). At this rate, we should have copies to sell at Wizard World Chicago.
  • My chocolate juggling, flame swallowing, ventriloquist improv troupe probably won’t be formed until after my throat heals from the surgery.

    Other thoughts:

  • Previously, I’d mentioned (about the PSP) “or even small press/independents giving away downloads for a first issue to hook readers.” Well, someone else had the same thought (and they have issue #1 of both Lions, Tigers & Bears and Legacy available).
  • Read the new Shadowhawk series written by my good friend, Kep! Now, where did they hide that subliminal message html tag?
  • Restaurants have those combo dishes with sirloin and shrimp or sirloin and ribs. But they rarely mix anything with ribeyes. I want some ribs alongside my ribeye, dammit. Maybe I need to start stuffing those suggestion boxes.
  • Star Wars madness! (it’s that funny kind of madness and not really the chop people up with an axe kind).
