Remember last time when I said it’s been a while? Well, guess what? It’s been a while. Things have been hectic (but that doesn’t mean I’m not having fun with all this)
…my short story Staelwierthe Souls featuring the lovable duo of Grei and Axe should be out in the next few months as part of the Grimoire de Solace anthology book
…a short six page Arazel & Xarenia comic book story has been submitted and approved for Digital Webbing Presents (the latest word from the editor, Ed Dukeshire, is that it will probably be in issue #6 or #7 of DWP which should be released around December/January)
…Arazel & Xarenia the series is just about ready for sending out as a submission (I’m working up the series synopsis, outlining the first 3 major story arcs, finishing up the rough plot for the first story arc, getting ready to finalize the script for the first issue, and beginning work on the script for the second issue)
…for those that don’t know, Marvel Comics opened unsolicited submissions to writers again, so I decided that it would be fun to give it a try (there will probably be tons of submissions, so mine will probably get lost amongst the sea of paper there, but it’s turning out to be a lot of fun to write–I’ve gone overboard with working up a springboard and synopsis for a three issue mini as my submission idea, and I already have the rough plot for the first two issues done)
…Drawn to the Flames is a 12 issue series I was working on as a potential submission/self-publishing venture, but I’ve been reworking it to move away from the lack of character focus I was stumbling into with the team book concept (12 issues just wasn’t enough for really giving all of these characters the attention they deserved, so I’m focusing the series now on a single character with the rest of the team acting more as supporting cast)
…my reference link database is slowly moving along, and I’ve recently started working on a comic book writer’s searchable sound effects database (inspired by a fellow writer, Kep!)
…there are also other projects, one of which is another DWP story called, Bob the Battleship (the comedic tale of an animated battleship that loses it one day at his job as a kiddie show host). Things are still going to be busy for me over the next few weeks (silly day job taking up a lot of my free time…why if they didn’t pay me all that money, and I didn’t enjoy the job, I’d…), but I’ll try my best to keep things updated here. ^_^
